5 questions to the Advisory Board: Alexandre Horvath

Alexandre Horvath is a well-known cyber expert with a deep understanding of cybersecurity and profound experience in data protection management. As a member of the Blocktrade advisory board, Alexandre brings his expertise in building and sustaining cybersecurity programs to the table and contributes to making Blocktrade a secure and safe platform for all our users.
What is your current position and where do you work?
I work as a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Data Protection Officer (DPO) at Cryptix AG. In this role, I am responsible for the development of data protection goals for mission-critical assets and devices, their cyber threats, and cyber risks.
Can you give us some insight on your career?
I have a strong background in IT security and risk management, with over a decade of leadership experience, covering the areas from strategic and operational management to project management. Working for multinational organizations such as Allianz Suisse, DHL and Credit Suisse, I can draw on extensive experience in the areas of cybersecurity and data protection on a global level.
On what topics do you advise Blocktrade?
I advise Blocktrade for cyber security but also privacy topics (like Security-as-a-Service [SECaaS] and Data-Privacy-as-a-Service [DPaaS]). In particular for DPaaS I monitor and maintain their organization’s compliance with the GDPR and applicable global privacy laws. Regarding SECaaS I am improving efficiencies and protecting their infrastructure from the latest security threats, by strengthening their defenses and improving their security maturity level.
What’s your personal outlook for Blocktrade?
Blocktrade holds the potential to be the go-to marketplace for all those who are interested in digital assets but have not yet found the right platform. With their educational and community-focused approach Blocktrade could be a real game changer in the space. With Bernhard Blaha in the position of the new CEO, an experienced team at his side and of course the upcoming Securities Offering, the sails are set for a promising future.
And last but not least: How do you balance work and life?
In my free time, you can often find me on the water practicing rowing. This is a good way to stay fit, and it gives a good chance to escape from our “always being online” world. Nature, especially calm water, brings you back to earth where you can gain some energy and fully focus on the exercise you are performing.
